about heather leaves
I have had the pleasure of being an artist and 'artist at rest' for the last three decades but have
recently come to the point where I would like to create more and share it with others on a larger
scale. In the last several months I have been able to dedicate more time to nurturing my talents and
as it turns out, myself as well in tandem.
In the coming months I'll be creating and posting more pieces that will no doubt reveal how I'm
evolving artistically and personally. To create is to release what's deepest inside, express what you
can't emote verbally, and also to reconnect with yourself most intimately.
I chose the name 'heather leaves' for my site for a number of reasons. Naturally, being named after a
flower, incorporating the word 'leaves' into my site was not a far stretch. And since this site is an
exhibition of my folio, I was reminded that a folio is inherently made up of an assemblage of leaves.
But a deeper meaning began articulating itself quietly in my mind beyond the obvious semantics. A
Heather flower can't bloom without her nutritious and nurturing leaves. As such, I too can only
bloom when fully accepting all the varied parts of myself - leaves and stem and all.
